28th Loisaida Festival
The 28th annual Loisaida Fest kicks off on May 24th, hosting the largest ethnic community pride festival in the city’s Lower East Side. Starting off with a carnival procession to start the festival, the rest of the day unfolds with host Luis Guzmán, plus performances on the mainstage by Calma Carmona, Turista, Chicano Batman, Papote Jimenez, and Herencia De Plena. The festival, an annual signature event of Loisaida Inc., raises funds for the non-profit’s expansion as they recently secured at 51-year lease for the new center.
